CLUB WEST ISLAND

Squash Leagues

Beer League

Beer League runs every Friday night starting at 5:00 pm during the regular season, and on select Fridays throughout the summer. This activity is open to all levels of players.  Participants are divided into 2 teams.

Breakfast Club

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 - 11:00 am men and women of all levels can drop by courts 3 & 4 and play friendly games with each other.  This activity is both social and competitive.  When players of differing abilities are paired up, the stronger players are encouraged to give the weaker players an enjoyable game.

Direct Ranking Challenge

Any player can challenge any other player up to 15 positions ahead on the Club Player Ranking; both players must agree before the match starts that the match will be registered as a challenge match.  All completed challenge matches must be reported to the squash professional to update the rankings.  All Direct Ranking Challenge matches will be entered at a ‘level 3’ value.

House League

This league is for players of all categories. Players are grouped into teams and matches are played on Thursday evenings starting at 5:40 pm. Matches are played best of 5 games, using traditional scoring.  There are usually three sessions throughout the year: Fall, Winter and Summer sessions.  The format of the league changes depending on the session; please refer to the General Rules & Regulations section for each session's specifics.

Snakes & Ladders

Players are grouped into boxes of 5, based on calibre. Players are responsible for scheduling matches with other players in their box within a specific time frame. Matches are played best of 5 games, using traditional scoring. Snakes and Ladders are for all categories of players, men and women.

Social Round Robin

This activity takes place on Tuesday evenings from 7:40 to 9:00 pm.  It is open to players of all levels, men and women.  Participants play one game. At the end of the game, the winner stays on the court and plays the next player in line.  After playing 2 consecutive games, he/she must vacate the court and allow the next person in line to play.  The social round robin is both competitive and social.  When players of differing abilities are paired up, the stronger players are encouraged to give the weaker players an enjoyable game.
