RULES & REGULATIONS
  1. The draws are posted on the free-standing bulletin board by Squash Court 3 and on the Le Club West Island website. The draws will be updated weekly.  To find out who your opponent is, visit the bulletin board or the website.  It is the responsibility of each player to check who their opponent is and to play their match by the deadline.
  2. Players must contact their opponent and schedule the match at a mutually convenient time by the deadline indicated on the draw.  Players must book their own courts.
  3. The tournament organizer will send a contact list to all players in their categories, together with the draw, so players may arrange their own matches.
  4. Matches are best 3 games out of 5.
  5. The scoring system for each game is point-a-rally to 15 points.  Whoever wins the rally, wins the point.  If points are tied at 14-14, play continues until there is a difference of 2 points.
  6. Blank score sheets are posted on the bulletin board by Squash Court 3.  Write the match score and pin the completed sheet to the bulletin board.  DO NOT WRITE DIRECTLY ON THE DRAWS POSTED.
  7. Each player is guaranteed a minimum of 2 matches.  WINNERS in the first round continue in the Main Draw.  LOSERS in the first round continue in the Consolation Draw, giving each player a minimum of 2 matches.
  8. Players are permitted (but not obligated) to book 2 consecutive court periods EXCEPT weekdays between 4:20 pm and 8:20 pm when only one time slot is allowed.  To book your second consecutive court, you must call reception at 514-695-8851 extension 0.
  9. If players do not finish their match during the allotted time, they may do any of the following:
    • Find another available court.
    • Use Challenge Court (Court 1) weekdays 5:00-7:00 pm, Saturdays 12:20-6:20 pm, and Sundays 9:40 am-6:20 pm.  Players must wait for the game in progress to finish.  Club Championships matches will be given priority on Challenge Court from April 21 to May 19.  Players may NOT, however, play their entire match from start to finish on Challenge Court if there are other players waiting to play Challenge Court.
    • Reschedule and complete the game.  Scores for games already completed and points in the incomplete game are maintained.  Simply continue the unfinished game(s).
  10. Players who do not show up or who are more than 15 minutes late are considered “no shows” and will be in default.
  11. All players are expected to know and adhere to the international rules of singles squash.
  12. Good sportsmanship is expected.  If a disagreement over a point occurs, play a let.  There will be no referees during matches until the finals, unless a player requests a referee. Please notify tournament organizer at least 2 days in advance of the scheduled match to allow allow for time to appoint a referee.
  13. Complaints about court conduct and league play should be directed to the tournament organizer, and these complaints will be taken seriously.  It is to the discretion of the tournament organizer to provide a warning to the offending player and/or ask the player to withdraw from the event.  The offending player will NOT be reimbursed any part of the registration fee.
  14. All Club Championships matches are entered at a ‘level 4’ value in the Le Club West Island rankings..
