CLUB WEST ISLAND

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you have to pay court fees?

A: All tennis members are subject to court fees. Every member is responsible for paying their share of the court, based on the time of day and their membership type.

Q: Do I have to reserve a tennis court in advance?

A: In order to play on a tennis court, you must reserve it at the front desk. All court reservations may be made 7 days in advance at reception, either in person or by telephone. A member must give their name and the name(s) of their opponent(s) for all reservations. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so will result in the member(s) paying for the court fee if the Club is unable to resell the time slot.

Q: Do I have to wear all white on the courts?

A: No. We do ask that you wear proper attire on the courts (no tank tops), and white soled (non-marking) shoes.

Q: I am new in the area, and would like to have a tennis partner. Can you arrange something?

A: Our tennis director will be able to connect you with another one of our members, or suggest one of our many leagues. Our website (www.clubwestisland.com) also offers a partner search function for all tennis members.

Q: I have never played tennis before and would like to take lessons.

A: We have several tennis professionals who will be able to provide you with lessons, whether you are seeking private or group lessons. Contact our tennis director who will suggest a pro based on your availability.

Q: Can I rent a racquet?

A: Racquet rentals, pending availability, are done through the pro shop (Boutique Pro-Cordage). You must contact them directly.

Q: Can I also use the gym/fitness center if I am a tennis member?

A: For a nominal fee, most tennis members may add the fitness department as a secondary activity onto their tennis membership. Please contact the Member Services Department for upgrade information.
